Older, Not Wiser

Cast your minds back to high school, when everything in your immediate sphere of existence mattered more than anything else in the whole world. Ever. And no-one else understood this. (Ok, so I stereotype!)

My teenage years were shaped by much the same things as any other normal kid – wanting to belong, trying to blend in with my chosen crowd, but always feeling like a fraud on the brink of discovery (or was that just me?!) and half the time trying to hide the stuff I liked (church, learning and Jesus) from people and to look like I was enjoying a whole lot of stuff that actually I wasn’t…

I’m glad to have left high school and teenage years behind. Some of those patterns of life, though, are harder to shift.

Soundtrack for this week has included Less Than Jake, Jimmy Eat World, MxPx, Five Iron Frenzy, Stereophonics, and The Offspring.
